Fall Is Here: Handmade Accessories, Cozy Knits & a Little Halloween Fun

Labor Day has come and gone, and even if the temperatures haven't completely gotten the message yet, fall is officially on my mind!

There's something about this time of year that makes me excited to head into my sewing room and start pulling out fabrics filled with warm autumn colors, pumpkins, leaves, Halloween designs, and all those rich shades that just feel like fall.

A New Season for Colorful Bags

Of course, changing seasons doesn't mean giving up color! In fact, fall gives me a whole new palette to play with.

I've been creating totes, crossbody bags, pouches, and other handmade fabric accessories in seasonal prints that are fun for everyday use throughout the fall.

One of my favorite parts of creating is choosing a fabric and imagining what it could become. Sometimes a print practically tells me what it wants to be!

🎃 And Then There's Halloween!

Halloween fabrics are especially fun because they can be cute, colorful, spooky—or a little bit of everything.

Along with Halloween-inspired bags and accessories for adults, I also make handmade Trick or Treat bags for kids. They're roomy enough for collecting plenty of treats, sturdy enough to use year after year, and much more fun than a plastic bucket!

A witch, ghost, skeleton, pirate—or any little trick-or-treater—can have a bag that becomes part of the costume and the Halloween fun.

And Halloween designs aren't just for kids. A fun spiderweb, pumpkin, ghost, or other seasonal print can make a great tote or pouch for anyone who loves Halloween.

🧶 Cooler Weather Means It's Time for Knits

Fall also means those chilly mornings and evenings aren't far away.

My knitting needles have been busy creating hats, mittens, fingerless gloves, scarves, cowls, headbands, and other cozy accessories to help keep you warm as the temperatures drop.

I love working with different yarn colors and textures just as much as I love discovering new fabrics. And because many of these pieces are handmade one at a time, there are always different colors and styles to discover.

They also make wonderful gifts—so even though I hesitate to say it this early, the holidays really aren't that far away!
